My background
I’ve spent 24 years in accounting and bookkeeping. Most of that career was in Pakistan, where my work covered day-to-day bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, bank reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and administrative oversight.
For part of that time, I led the accounts department of an educational institution. That role meant keeping records accurate, getting reports out on time, keeping spending in line with budgets, and making sure the people relying on the numbers could trust them.
My education gave me a strong foundation for that work: a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) in Accounting and an MBA in Finance.
Why I started Gillani Bookkeeping Services
The fundamentals of good bookkeeping are the same everywhere: record every transaction carefully, reconcile regularly, and present the results clearly. Small-business owners need exactly that, but they rarely have time to do it themselves.
Today I’m based in South Windsor, Connecticut, and I work remotely with small businesses throughout the United States. I’ve earned Intuit’s QuickBooks certifications so I can do this work in the software many U.S. small businesses already rely on.
